Graphic Designer/UI Designer
Remote
As a Graphic Designer/UI Designer, you will be responsible for crafting captivating visual content for both printed and digital platforms. This position merges traditional graphic design skills with intermediate UI design knowledge to enhance the creation of exceptional digital experiences, marketing materials, and branded assets. The perfect candidate will possess robust creative abilities, a comprehensive grasp of design fundamentals and typography, as well as the ability to adapt brand guidelines into dynamic digital user interfaces. You will work closely with Product Designers, writers, art directors, creative directors, product teams, and software engineers to deliver consistent and high-quality design outputs.
Responsibilities of the Graphic/UI Designer:
- Design layouts and visuals for logos, packaging, advertisements, marketing materials, websites, brochures, and various other publications for both print and digital formats.
- Select and organize artwork, create illustrations, choose color schemes, and collaborate on the overall creative vision and direction.
- Maintain quality, accuracy, and uniformity across all graphic and UI design projects.
- Produce UI design deliverables, including:
- Mockups and interactive prototypes
- Design systems
- Digital assets for development handoff
- Simple animations
- Additional visual assets requested by the product team
- Interpret and implement brand standards into the digital UI and product experiences.
- Assist with press checks and the production processes for printed materials.
- Utilize UI design principles to craft effective and visually cohesive digital experiences.
- Engage in UI research activities, encompassing competitive analyses, A/B testing, accessibility assessments, and other research as required by the product team.
- Work in tandem with Product Designers (UX) for wireframe transitions and design decisions.
- Collaborate with software engineers to ensure seamless handover of design assets for implementation.
- Conduct UI reviews of live code to confirm that the final product matches the approved designs.
- Effectively communicate with creative and cross-functional teams, including production artists, writers, art directors, creative directors, product designers, and engineers.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives, stakeholder communication, and the evolution of UI design practices.
- Manage various projects simultaneously, adhere to deadlines, and ensure meticulous attention to detail.
- Stay updated on the latest graphic design tools, software, and trends within the industry.
Requirements for the Graphic/UI Designer:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Graphic Design or a similar field.
- 5+ years of professional design experience with a robust portfolio showcasing an exceptional aesthetic sense, packaging design, layout design, brand identity, and prototyping.
- Expertise in graphic design software, particularly Adobe Creative Suite.
- Intermediate understanding of UI design principles and skills.
- Experience in producing digital design assets and supporting UI research.
- Strong foundation in graphic design principles, including typography, color theory, composition, and visual communication.
- Demonstrated creativity, artistic flair, and a passion for images, text, and various media.
- Capability to effectively translate brand guidelines into digital user interfaces.
- Familiarity with UI research methodologies, including competitive analysis, A/B testing, and accessibility guidelines.
- Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to collaborate efficiently with creative, product, and technical teams.
- Skillful in managing multiple priorities, meeting deadlines, and working effectively in high-pressure situations.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and a capacity to participate in design concepts and decision-making.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in collaboration with Product Designers/UX specialists and software engineering teams.
- Experience in preparing assets for development handoff and assessing UI execution in live projects.
- Knowledge in creating mockups, interactive prototypes, design systems, and basic animations.
- Experience in engaging with design processes and stakeholder communications.
