Job Summary
The Material Handler or Baler plays a crucial role in the efficient processing and handling of materials within the facility. This position involves the operation of various equipment to sort, bundle, and prepare materials for shipment or recycling, while ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
Responsibilities
- Operate baling machines and other equipment to compress materials for efficient transport.
- Sort and organize materials according to type and quality.
- Inspect incoming and outgoing materials for damage and compliance with specifications.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area to ensure safety and efficiency.
- Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols while performing job functions.
- Assist in loading and unloading materials from trucks or containers.
- Record and report any defects or issues that arise during processing.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Prior experience in a materials handling or recycling environment is a plus.
- Ability to lift heavy materials and perform physical tasks consistently.
- Familiarity with safety practices related to material handling.
