Litigation Paralegal

As a vital member of our legal team, the Litigation Paralegal will provide support for commercial litigation efforts in both Florida state and federal courts. This position is perfect for a meticulous individual who excels in managing critical deadlines, overseeing discovery processes, handling court filings, and assisting with trial preparations.
Key Responsibilities of the Litigation Paralegal:
- Draft legal documents such as pleadings, motions, notices, and other filings for the court
- Prepare materials for depositions, including notices, exhibits, and summaries
- Organize and maintain essential case files and indexes
- Liaise with clients, witnesses, courts, vendors, and opposing counsel
- Oversee discovery projects, manage document production, and facilitate e-discovery processes
- Monitor deadlines to ensure timely submissions to the court, including electronic filings
Qualifications for the Litigation Paralegal:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in defense-side commercial litigation within a law firm environment
- Preferred educational background includes a degree and paralegal certification; significant relevant experience may be accepted in lieu
- Robust understanding of both Florida state and federal court regulations and procedures
- Practical experience in discovery processes, document management, and preparing for trials
- Skillful in legal research and proficient with document management and review systems, including Westlaw, iManage, and Nuix/Ringtail
- Exceptional written and oral communication abilities
- Experience supporting trials, including familiarity with Trial Director or equivalent software
- Comprehensive knowledge of the litigation process and the responsibilities of a paralegal from case initiation to trial
