Job Summary
The Medical Assistant will provide essential support in patient care, with a particular focus on per diem and travel assignments in Redding. This role is crucial for maintaining efficient healthcare operations and enhancing patient experiences. The Medical Assistant will perform various clinical and administrative tasks as needed, and their flexibility to travel increases the ability to offer high-quality care in diverse settings.
Responsibilities
- Assist healthcare professionals with patient examinations and treatments.
- Manage patient records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- Perform routine laboratory tests and prepare samples for analysis.
- Administer medications and injections as directed by physicians.
- Schedule appointments and maintain the clinic’s calendar.
- Provide educational information to patients regarding their treatments and health management.
- Respond promptly to patient inquiries and concerns, delivering excellent customer service.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a medical assistant program preferred.
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA or RMA) is advantageous.
- Previous experience in a medical setting is highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient in basic computer skills and electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Willingness to travel as required for assignments.
