Job Summary
The Operating Room Circulator RN plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and safe operation of the surgical environment. This position involves managing the surgical team and facilitating communication between different team members, all while maintaining patient safety and care throughout the surgical process.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage the overall flow of the operating room.
- Ensure that all necessary surgical instruments and supplies are available and sterile before surgery.
- Monitor the patient’s condition during surgical procedures, maintaining safety protocols.
- Communicate effectively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and operating room staff.
- Document relevant patient information and surgical details accurately.
- Assist with patient positioning and preparing the operating area for procedures.
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- Previous experience in a surgical setting or operating room preferred.
- BLS and ACLS certifications are required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
