Job Summary
Rochester Regional Health is looking for a dedicated Surgical Technologist to become a vital part of the Operating Room team at Unity in Greece, New York. This position involves providing expert support in the surgical setting, focusing on maintaining sterile environments and effective instrument management during procedures.
Responsibilities
- Assist in ensuring all surgical instruments and equipment are sterile and properly handled.
- Support the surgical team during operations by anticipating their needs and providing necessary tools and supplies.
- Contribute to maintaining a clean and organized operating room environment.
- Participate in the preparation of the operating room before surgeries and assist with post-operative cleanup.
- Work flexible shifts, including evenings and nights, to accommodate the needs of the surgical schedule.
Qualifications
- Must obtain certification within 12 months of hiring, or meet alternative nursing/grandfathering pathways.
- Previous experience in a surgical or hospital environment is preferred.
- Strong understanding of sterile techniques and infection control practices.
- Ability to collaborate effectively as part of a surgical team.
- Willingness to work on-site and adapt to varying shifts as needed.
