Job Summary
The Hemodialysis Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for delivering high-quality care to patients undergoing hemodialysis treatments. This role involves assessing patient conditions, providing treatment, and monitoring the overall health of patients with renal issues. The RN ensures compliance with protocols and works collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to enhance patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Administer hemodialysis treatments as per prescribed protocols.
- Monitor and document patients’ vital signs and condition during dialysis sessions.
- Evaluate patient responses to treatments and adjust care plans as necessary.
- Educate patients and families regarding treatment processes and dietary requirements.
- Assist in the maintenance and management of dialysis equipment.
- Ensure a safe and sterile environment throughout the treatment experience.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop effective patient care strategies.
Qualifications
- Current and valid RN license in the state of practice.
- Previous experience in dialysis or critical care nursing preferred.
- Strong assessment, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of renal pathology and treatments.
- BLS and ACLS certification required.
