Job Summary
The Surgical Tech plays a crucial role in the operating room, assisting surgeons and medical personnel throughout various surgical procedures. This position requires a blend of technical and clinical expertise to ensure a sterile environment and the efficient conduct of surgeries.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain an organized surgical workspace.
- Assist in setting up surgical instruments and equipment before operations begin.
- Support the surgical team during procedures by passing instruments and materials as needed.
- Ensure all surgical tools are accounted for and in proper working condition.
- Facilitate a sterile environment by following strict protocols and procedures.
- Monitor patient conditions during surgeries and report any changes to the surgical team.
Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of surgical instruments and procedures.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Current CPR certification is typically required.
