Job Summary
The MRI Technologist plays a crucial role in the healthcare team, specializing in the operation and utilization of Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images. This position involves working closely with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate imaging while prioritizing patient safety and comfort. The MRI Technologist must demonstrate proficiency in imaging techniques and maintain compliance with protocols and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Operate MRI scanners to acquire clear and detailed images as per physician instructions.
- Prepare patients for imaging procedures, ensuring they understand the process and addressing any concerns.
- Monitor patient conditions before, during, and after imaging procedures, maintaining comfort and safety.
- Maintain and uphold cleanliness and functionality of the MRI equipment and related areas.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols, including patient screening for contraindications.
- Collaborate with radiologists to discuss imaging results and assist in analyzing images for diagnostic purposes.
- Document all procedures accurately in patient records and imaging databases.
Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited MRI technology program.
- Valid certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in MRI.
- Strong knowledge of MRI techniques, protocols, and patient care practices.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients and medical personnel.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-focused environment.
