Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for our Neurosurgery ICU at the University Medical Associates in Charleston, South Carolina. This role involves providing high-quality patient care within a specialized neurosurgical intensive care setting. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and managing patients under the supervision of the medical team.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and evaluations of patients in the ICU.
- Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
- Perform diagnostic procedures, including radiological and laboratory tests.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
- Educate patients and their families regarding treatment options and recovery.
Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
- Current certification as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
- Ability to pass the required examination for Advanced Practice Registered Nurse or Physician Assistant.
- Strong knowledge of neurosurgery protocols and patient care standards.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively in a team environment.
