Job Summary

The Laboratory Animal Technician 1 plays a crucial role in providing care and support for laboratory animals within the Oregon National Primate Research Center. This position is focused on ensuring the well-being of animals while supporting various research activities.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine care and husbandry tasks for laboratory animals.
• Ensure facilities are kept clean and sanitized.
• Assist veterinarians during medical procedures.
• Maintain and service laboratory equipment to guarantee a safe research environment.

Qualifications

• Fundamental understanding of animal care, evidenced through experience with pets, farm animals, or participation in 4-H programs.
• Ability to read, write, and adhere to provided instructions effectively.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license.
• Physical capability to lift weights of up to 50 pounds.
