Job Summary

The Production Supervisor is tasked with overseeing shift operations, guiding hourly employees, and ensuring unwavering adherence to safety, quality, delivery, cost efficiency, productivity, and employee morale. This pivotal role is central to meeting plant objectives by upholding operational standards, nurturing talent development, and facilitating continual improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee shift operations to guarantee that all tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with the plant’s goals.
  • Coordinate and confirm that safety training, monthly safety initiatives, and incident follow-up actions are effectively completed.
  • Foster a robust safety culture by instructing team members on safe working practices and ensuring adherence to operational regulations.
  • Convey customer expectations and ensure production schedules align with delivery timelines and quality standards.
  • Address quality concerns, perform root cause analyses, and collaborate with operators to implement effective corrective measures.
  • Champion Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and continuous improvement activities, including Autonomous Maintenance and Focused Improvement initiatives.
  • Mentor and develop hourly staff by establishing clear performance expectations, providing feedback, maintaining documentation, and creating training plans.
  • Facilitate cost reduction, productivity enhancement, and waste minimization through effective standard work practices and resource planning.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 3 years of progressive leadership experience in settings such as manufacturing, distribution, or military.
  • Proven experience in leading teams, making substantial decisions, and fostering talent in dynamic environments.
  • Familiarity with employee, labor relations is advantageous.
  • A bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • Experience with Lean principles, Total Productive Maintenance, or continuous improvement methodologies is highly desirable.
  • Exceptional communication abilities, a proactive mindset for change, and a dedication to safety are essential.
