Job Summary
The MRI Technologist is responsible for performing magnetic resonance imaging procedures that assist in the diagnosis and treatment of various medical conditions. This role demands a deep understanding of imaging techniques, patient care, and safety protocols to ensure accurate results and patient comfort. The technologist collaborates with physicians and other healthcare professionals, plays a vital part in patient interaction, and maintains equipment functionality.
Responsibilities
- Conduct MRI examinations by following standardized protocols.
- Prepare patients for imaging procedures, ensuring their comfort and understanding.
- Ensure all safety procedures are strictly adhered to during scans.
- Evaluate images for quality and accuracy, ensuring diagnostic needs are met.
- Maintain and operate MRI equipment, conducting regular checks to confirm functionality.
- Document patient information, imaging processes, and equipment maintenance records.
- Work collaboratively with healthcare team members to deliver comprehensive patient care.
Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited MRI technology program.
- Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in MRI.
- Current state licensure as required.
- Strong understanding of MRI safety protocols and patient care techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
