The Direct Support Professional (DSP) plays a vital role in assisting individuals with disabilities, fostering their independence, and enhancing their quality of life. This position is integral to providing personalized support, ensuring clients achieve their personal goals through effective guidance and encouragement.
Responsibilities
- Provide daily living assistance to individuals with disabilities.
- Encourage and support clients in their personal goals and daily activities.
- Facilitate community integration and social interactions.
- Maintain accurate documentation of client progress and incidents.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
- Assist with mobility and personal hygiene when necessary.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in care support preferred.
- Experience in a similar role or working with individuals with disabilities is advantageous.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a commitment to helping others.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
