Position Summary for BIM Designer:
The BIM Designer plays a crucial role in modeling tasks essential for project execution and adherence to established standards. As part of the production team, you will need to demonstrate excellent communication skills to ensure the creation of precise and effective modeling and deliverables from your designated assignments.
Core Responsibilities of BIM Designer:
- Conduct layouts and integrate field details into Revit, with guidance from the Supervisor/Lead Modeler, ensuring compliance with REI Standards.
- Perform thorough reviews of your work for accuracy prior to submitting it for further processing.
- Develop project sheets in alignment with project specifications and REI Standards.
- Maintain the Revit model environment according to Company BIM Standards.
- Create documentation outlining the progress of your assignments in line with project standards.
- Adhere to all REI confidentiality and Non-Disclosure requirements relevant to this role.
- Safeguard the Company’s Proprietary or Intellectual Property.

- Strong self-management capabilities.
- Proficiency in Revit, including the ability to create and modify views, browser structures, sheets, schedules, filters, and related items.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Capable of following detailed instructions accurately.
- Knowledge of and ability to adhere to REI BIM processes, procedures, and standards, including workflow methodologies.
- Proficient in reading 2D plans in both digital and hard copy formats, inclusive of one-lines, lighting schedules, panel schedules, and feeder schedules.
- Eager to learn industry-standard software such as BlueBeam, Autodesk Cloud products, and NavisWorks.
- Adept at importing various documents, including spreadsheets, images, and word files into Revit projects.
- Ability to type, proofread, and conduct spell checks independently.
- Familiarity with working in shared Revit environments.
- Understanding of 3D coordination principles with other trades.
- Competent in using a computer and familiar with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.).
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks, adjusting to changing priorities as needed.
- Capable of working effectively under pressure and adapting positively to changing requirements.
- Strong problem-solving communication skills, both orally and in writing.
- Self-driven, proactive, and a collaborative team player.
- Ability to interact professionally and effectively with employees at all levels, including both management and staff.
Qualifications Needed:
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- An Associate degree in Computerized Drafting or a related discipline is preferred.
- A minimum of 6 months of experience in electrical drafting, installation, or working with Revit is necessary.
- Experience may be supplemented by relevant education or training.
