Job Summary
The technician will oversee the management and processing of prior authorization requests specifically for specialty medications. This role involves close coordination with prescribers, patients, and insurance companies to ensure seamless authorization workflows.
Responsibilities
- Ensure proper management of prior authorization requests for specialty medications.
- Coordinate effectively with healthcare providers, patients, and insurance entities.
- Verify and confirm patients’ insurance coverage for medications.
- Monitor and track the status of authorization requests.
- Maintain precise and up-to-date information in the pharmacy management system.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a pharmacy technician.
- Familiarity with workflows in specialty pharmacy and various insurance plans.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience with authorization platforms, particularly CoverMyMeds, is preferred.
