Job Summary
The Certified Surgical Technologist in the Oncology Operating Room plays a crucial role in aiding surgical teams by ensuring that they are well-prepared for procedures and by facilitating safe and effective surgical care. This position is based onsite in Lebanon, Tennessee, and requires specialized certifications to perform competently in a high-stakes environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare the operating room and ensure that all necessary surgical instruments and equipment are ready for use.
- Assist the surgical team during procedures by handing over instruments and supplies as needed.
- Maintain a sterile environment to ensure patient safety.
- Monitor supplies and inventory to ensure adequate stock is maintained.
- Collaborate with surgical personnel to facilitate effective surgical practices.
Qualifications
- Must possess a Certified Surgical Technologist credential or a Tech in Surgery certification.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification is required.
- Experience in an oncology setting is preferred.
- Strong understanding of surgical procedures and sterile techniques.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills are essential for success in this role.
