Job Summary
The Chemical Plant Operator plays a crucial role in managing and overseeing the production process within a chemical manufacturing environment. This position requires an individual to monitor and control equipment, ensuring safe operations while adhering to production schedules and quality standards. The operator is responsible for maintaining the integrity of the production process and executing established safety protocols.
Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor various equipment and machinery in the chemical production process.
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure the plant’s equipment is functioning properly.
- Adhere to safety regulations and policies to maintain a safe working environment.
- Document production data and quality control measures accurately.
- Collaborate with team members to optimize production efficiency.
- Respond to alarms and troubleshoot issues related to plant operations.
- Participate in safety training and ongoing education to stay current with best practices.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training in chemical operations is preferred.
- Experience in a chemical production or manufacturing setting is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of chemical processes and safety protocols.
- Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Flexibility to work various shifts and on-call as necessary.
