Job Summary
The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) plays a vital role in offering essential care and support to patients in the medical-surgical unit during the day shift. This position is designed for compassionate and dedicated individuals eager to assist healthcare professionals in delivering high-quality patient care. The CNA will be responsible for various tasks that ensure patient comfort and contribute to their overall wellbeing in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with daily living activities including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Monitor vital signs and report any significant changes to nursing staff.
- Provide support in mobility and comfort for patients, ensuring their safety.
- Document patient’s progress and maintain accurate patient records.
- Serve meals and help patients with feeding when necessary.
- Engage patients in conversation and recreational activities to enhance their mental well-being.
Qualifications
- Current state certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred or required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and provide compassionate care.
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting is a plus.
