CNA – Hospice Aide

Job description

Job Summary

The Hospice Aide, also known as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), plays a vital role in providing compassionate personal care and support to patients in a hospice setting. This position involves assisting individuals with daily living activities to enhance their comfort and quality of life during end-of-life care.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver personal care services to patients, including bathing, grooming, and dressing.
  • Assist with mobility and transfers, ensuring safety and comfort.
  • Monitor and report changes in patients’ conditions to the nursing staff.
  • Provide emotional support and companionship to patients and their families.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients.

Qualifications

  • Current certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) in the state of practice.
  • Experience in hospice or home health care is preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work compassionately with patients and families in a sensitive manner.
  • Basic understanding of personal care best practices and patient safety.
