Commercial Litigation Paralegal

As a **Commercial Litigation Paralegal**, you will assist attorneys in navigating intricate commercial litigation cases in both State and Federal jurisdictions across California. This position is perfect for a dedicated individual who excels in a dynamic setting and is enthusiastic about managing cases from start to finish, including through trial.
Key Responsibilities of the Commercial Litigation Paralegal:
- Draft pleadings, motions, notices, and various legal documents for submission to State and Federal courts.
- Support deposition preparation by organizing notices, exhibits, and collaborating with witnesses.
- Oversee the arrangement of case files, discovery documents, and evidence production.
- Track and manage discovery requests, responses, and e-discovery activities.
- Coordinate with clients, experts, witnesses, and opposing counsel to ensure the smooth progress of cases.
- Maintain case calendars, adhere to court timelines, and ensure prompt filing of all court documents (including electronic filings).
- Assist in trial preparation and provide courtroom support, utilizing trial software such as Trial Director or comparable systems.
Qualifications for the Commercial Litigation Paralegal:
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in commercial litigation, ideally with a focus on defense.
- Solid understanding of California State and Federal court rules and procedures.
- Competency in trial support software (like Trial Director) and case management systems.
- Demonstrated ability to manage cases at all litigation stages.
- Bachelor’s degree or an associate degree with a paralegal certificate preferred (equivalent professional experience will be taken into account).
- Expertise in Westlaw, iManage, and Nuix (previously Ringtail), or similar document review tools.
- Outstanding organizational and analytical skills.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Meticulous attention to detail and a strong commitment to meeting deadlines.
- Proven capacity to juggle multiple cases and prioritize effectively.
- Collaborative team player who can also work independently.
- High level of professionalism and discretion when managing confidential information.
