Job Summary
The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) plays a crucial role in supporting occupational therapy services by working directly with patients to enhance their ability to perform daily activities. This position is designated as PRN, which involves working as needed to provide essential care and support.
Responsibilities
- Assist occupational therapists in executing treatment plans for patients.
- Provide therapeutic interventions to help patients improve functional skills.
- Document patient progress and report findings back to the supervising occupational therapist.
- Engage with patients to encourage participation in therapy and activities.
- Maintain a safe and organized environment conducive to patient care.
- Participate in team meetings to enhance the overall therapy program.
Qualifications
- Current certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant.
- Valid state licensure, where applicable.
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients and team members.
- Ability to follow treatment plans and protocols established by supervising therapists.
- Experience in a clinical or rehabilitation setting is preferred.
