Job description

Job Summary

The Crisis Intervention Specialist is responsible for providing immediate and effective support to individuals experiencing crises. This role focuses on assessing individuals in distress and delivering appropriate interventions to de-escalate situations, ensuring safety and facilitating access to necessary services.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct assessments of individuals in crisis to determine immediate needs.
  • Offer de-escalation techniques to individuals in distress.
  • Coordinate with local services and resources for further assistance.
  • Document interactions and create reports for follow-up care.
  • Provide guidance and support to families and caregivers on managing crises.

Qualifications

  • Relevant degree in psychology, social work, or a related field.
  • Experience in crisis intervention or mental health services.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Certification in crisis intervention techniques preferred.
