Job Summary
The Dean of Nursing is responsible for leading and managing the nursing program within an academic institution. This role involves overseeing educational strategies, faculty development, and ensuring compliance with accreditation standards while promoting academic excellence and student success.
Responsibilities
- Provide visionary leadership for the nursing department.
- Develop and implement innovative nursing curricula.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive environment among faculty and students.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and accreditation standards.
- Support faculty in their professional development and teaching practices.
- Engage with the community and healthcare providers to enhance program relevance.
- Monitor program outcomes and assess student performance.
- Manage budgets and resources effectively to enhance program operations.
Qualifications
- An earned terminal degree in Nursing or a closely related field.
- Prior administrative experience in higher education, preferably in nursing programs.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities and strong interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of current trends and best practices in nursing education.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Experience with accreditation processes and quality assurance measures.
