Job Summary
The Eligibility Specialist plays a vital role in the healthcare system by ensuring that patient insurance eligibility, benefits, and authorizations are confirmed before appointments. This position involves managing various aspects of patient accounts, updating copay details within the electronic medical records (EMR) system, and providing assistance with billing-related questions and payment arrangements.
Responsibilities
- Verify patient insurance eligibility, benefits, and authorizations prior to appointments.
- Manage patient accounts and update copay information in the EMR system.
- Assist with inquiries related to billing and facilitate payment plans.
Qualifications
- Comprehensive understanding of the insurance claim process.
- Familiarity with Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) and patient statements.
- Proficiency in using EMR systems.
- Strong commitment to maintaining HIPAA compliance and ensuring data accuracy.
