Job Summary
The Endoscopy Technician plays a vital role in assisting healthcare professionals during endoscopic procedures. This position involves the preparation and maintenance of endoscopic equipment, patient support, and ensuring a sterile environment to facilitate effective medical procedures.
Responsibilities
- Prepare endoscopic instruments and equipment for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
- Assist healthcare providers in performing endoscopic evaluations and interventions.
- Ensure that all equipment is properly sterilized and functioning before use.
- Monitor patient comfort and safety during endoscopic procedures.
- Documentation of procedures and maintenance of patient records.
- Support the team in cleaning and reprocessing endoscopy instruments post-procedure.
- Adhere to safety protocols and infection control standards throughout all tasks.
Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited program in endoscopic technology or a related field.
- Certification as an Endoscopy Technician is preferred.
- Prior experience in a healthcare setting, particularly in endoscopy or surgical services.
- Strong knowledge of endoscopic equipment, anatomy, and procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients and medical staff.
- Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure environment while maintaining attention to detail.
