Job Summary
This position entails leading a team of six backend engineers while maintaining a hands-on approach to coding, system architecture, and overseeing production health at a rate of 60%. The role involves steering the technical direction, participating in recruitment efforts, and guaranteeing the dependability of backend systems and cloud infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of backend engineers.
- Maintain a significant level of direct involvement in coding and architecture.
- Oversee the health and performance of production systems.
- Determine and direct the technical strategy for backend development.
- Handle hiring processes to build a proficient engineering team.
- Ensure robust reliability and efficiency of backend systems and cloud infrastructure.
Qualifications
- Over 10 years of experience in software engineering.
- At least 2 years of experience in a managerial capacity.
- Expertise in Python/Django or Node.js/TypeScript.
- Experience with AWS and managing production system ownership.
