Job Summary
The Estimator for Structural Steel Fabrication plays a pivotal role in accurately assessing project costs and preparing estimates for steel fabrication. This position requires expertise in evaluating project specifications and collaborating with various teams to ensure competitive and precise bidding.
Responsibilities
- Analyze project requirements and specifications to prepare accurate cost estimates for structural steel projects.
- Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and project management teams to gather necessary information for bidding.
- Evaluate plans, blueprints, and other documentation to identify potential cost-saving opportunities.
- Maintain thorough records of estimates, including calculations and methodologies used.
- Participate in project meetings to clarify specifications and resolve any discrepancies.
- Keep abreast of market trends and pricing strategies to ensure competitive advantage in the bidding process.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
- Proven experience in estimating for structural steel fabrication or similar construction projects.
- Strong understanding of construction methodologies, materials, and pricing.
- Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Proficient in using estimating software and tools.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
