Job Summary
The Grinding Machinist for the 3rd Shift is responsible for operating and maintaining grinding machines to shape and finish metal parts according to specifications. This position requires precision and attention to detail as the operator works with various materials to achieve desired tolerances. The ideal candidate will be skilled in machine setup, operation, and quality control procedures to ensure high standards are met throughout the production process.
Responsibilities
- Set up and adjust grinding machines for production runs.
- Inspect finished parts for dimensional accuracy using measuring instruments.
- Monitor machine operation and troubleshoot any issues that arise during the process.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment in compliance with safety regulations.
- Document production output and quality metrics as required.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth workflow and efficient operations.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in machining preferred.
- Proven experience as a machinist with specific expertise in grinding.
- Strong knowledge of machining processes and tools.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Willingness to work 3rd shift hours including nights and weekends.
