The Heavy Equipment Operator plays a crucial role in the safe handling and management of material processing equipment for scrap metal operations, which includes loading trucks and supplying the shredder. The operator is expected to carry out daily inspections of the equipment, ensure the cleanliness of the yard, and communicate efficiently with team members using radio devices. Applicants should possess a minimum of 2 years of experience in operating heavy machinery, such as front-end loaders or scrap handlers within an industrial environment. A valid driver’s license is mandatory, and candidates must be capable of performing physically intensive tasks, including lifting items weighing up to 50 pounds and ascending ladders.
