Job Summary
This role involves providing direct personal care and emotional support to patients facing terminal illnesses in their homes or care facilities. The caregiver’s primary focus is on assisting with daily living activities and monitoring the overall health and wellbeing of patients.
Responsibilities
- Deliver personal care and emotional support to terminally ill patients.
- Assist patients with hygiene, mobility, meal preparation, and other daily needs.
- Monitor and document changes in patient health condition and care needs.
- Adhere to safety procedures and infection-control standards.
- Engage in team meetings and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Must possess an active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in the relevant state.
- Current CPR certification is required.
- A valid driver’s license and access to a reliable, insured vehicle are necessary.
- At least six months of experience in direct patient care is preferred.
- Must demonstrate compassion, patience, and the ability to work independently.
- Should be adaptable to fluctuating patient needs and capable of handling emotionally challenging situations.
