Job description

Job Summary

The Infusion RN will be responsible for delivering specialized nursing care to patients requiring infusion therapy. This role entails accessing veins for intravenous therapy, monitoring responses to medication, and ensuring patient safety throughout the infusion process.

Responsibilities

  • Provide expert nursing assessments and care during infusion treatments.
  • Administer intravenous medications and manage infusion pumps.
  • Monitor patients for adverse reactions and respond to emergencies as necessary.
  • Educate patients and their families regarding treatment plans and home care after infusions.
  • Document all nursing assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the medical records.
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members to optimize patient care.

Qualifications

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
  • Previous experience in an infusion or related nursing role preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Basic life support (BLS) certification required; advanced certifications may be preferred.
