Job Summary
The Kitchen Steward at UPMC Harrisburg plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation and cleanliness of the kitchen environment. This position involves supporting food service operations through effective cleaning and maintenance of kitchen equipment, utensils, and facilities.
Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen areas including workspaces, equipment, and utensils.
- Assist in food preparation and cooking tasks as needed, under the direction of culinary staff.
- Ensure that all dishes and kitchenware are properly washed, sanitized, and stored.
- Help manage inventory and supplies to ensure the kitchen is fully stocked.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations within the kitchen environment.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment is preferred.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends.
