Job Summary
The Laboratory Animal Technician 1 plays a crucial role in providing care and support for laboratory animals within the Oregon National Primate Research Center. This position is focused on ensuring the well-being of animals while supporting various research activities.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine care and husbandry tasks for laboratory animals.
- Ensure facilities are kept clean and sanitized.
- Assist veterinarians during medical procedures.
- Maintain and service laboratory equipment to guarantee a safe research environment.
Qualifications
- Fundamental understanding of animal care, evidenced through experience with pets, farm animals, or participation in 4-H programs.
- Ability to read, write, and adhere to provided instructions effectively.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license.
- Physical capability to lift weights of up to 50 pounds.
