Job Summary
The role involves assisting patients in choosing suitable eyewear, including frames, lenses, treatments, and accessories based on their individual prescriptions and preferences. Additionally, the position requires providing information regarding insurance coverage, warranties, and proper eyewear care. Maintaining a well-organized practice environment while managing orders and ensuring quality control is also essential.
Responsibilities
- Guide patients in selecting appropriate eyewear tailored to their prescriptions and individual needs.
- Explain insurance options, warranty details, and care instructions for eyewear.
- Interpret and document eyewear prescriptions accurately.
- Manage orders and ensure timely follow-up with patients.
- Inspect and dispense eyewear, ensuring proper fit.
- Make necessary adjustments and repairs to eyewear.
- Maintain an organized and efficient practice environment.
Qualifications
- State licensure is mandatory.
- A high school diploma or GED is required.
- Previous experience in optical dispensing is essential.
- ABO/NCLE certification and familiarity with HIPAA regulations are preferred.
- Proficient computer skills and strong organizational capabilities are necessary.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills are essential.
- Attention to detail and manual dexterity are critical for adjusting and repairing eyewear.
