Job Summary
The Long Haul Fiber Splicer will be responsible for ensuring the installation, maintenance, and repair of fiber optic networks, specifically focusing on long-distance communication lines. This role requires technical expertise in fiber splicing techniques and a strong commitment to quality assurance and safety protocols when executing fiber-optic projects.
Responsibilities
- Conduct splicing and termination of fiber optic cables in long haul telecommunications systems.
- Perform testing and troubleshooting of network connections and splices.
- Document splicing records and maintain accurate project logs.
- Collaborate with network engineers and project managers to ensure project objectives are met.
- Participate in deployment and surveying tasks as required.
- Adhere to safety standards and best practices during installation and maintenance activities.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in fiber optic splicing and installation.
- Knowledge of fiber optic theory and the principles of network design.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to various job sites.
- Certification in fiber optic technology preferred.
