Job Summary
The Machine Maintenance Mechanic I plays a crucial role in sustaining the efficiency of production equipment by executing preventive maintenance, responding to urgent repair needs, and ensuring cleanliness across machinery. Additionally, this position requires the proper management of industrial materials, ensuring their safe handling and disposal within the facility.
Responsibilities
- Conduct preventive maintenance on production equipment to minimize downtime.
- Perform emergency repairs to address equipment failures swiftly.
- Maintain cleanliness of machinery and work areas to promote a safe working environment.
- Oversee the safe handling and disposal of industrial byproducts, including metal shavings, oils, and chemicals.
Qualifications
- Proficient in the use of hand tools necessary for maintenance tasks.
- Able to handle physically demanding work, including lifting weights up to 75 pounds.
- Preferred to have forklift certification.
- Training in Lock Out Tag Out procedures is advantageous.
