Second shift (3 PM – 11 PM)
$37.50/HR
$2,000 sign-on bonus

The **Maintenance Technician** plays a crucial role in addressing issues and repairing all equipment related to production, such as pumps, valves, gearboxes, seals, and compressors. The technician will carry out repairs on-site when feasible; otherwise, equipment will be taken to the mechanics’ shop for servicing. Responsibilities include disassembling parts and reassembling them to guarantee mechanical reliability and performance. In addition to maintenance tasks, the technician will also handle various clerical and stockroom responsibilities.

Responsibilities of Maintenance Technician

  • Conduct standard installations, inspections, lubrication, and repairs on a variety of equipment, utilities, buildings, and their components, demonstrating a broad range of general maintenance skills.
  • Assist in the comprehensive installation of equipment and systems.
  • Utilize hand and power tools safely and effectively as necessary for daily tasks.
  • Read and interpret prints, sketches, and general instructions to perform work accurately.
  • Keep detailed records related to job performance.
  • Adhere to all established procedures and regulations concerning fire safety, environmental issues, and overall safety standards.
  • Possess a solid understanding of the Division’s electrical systems, utilities, and safety protocols.
  • Operate the LWTP (Liquid Waste Treatment Plant).
  • Manage and maintain fire pumps as required.
  • Work independently on mechanical tasks.
  • Execute minor repairs and adjustments to electrical and instrumentation systems to ensure ongoing operations.
  • Properly start up and shut down plant utilities, infrastructure, and systems.
  • Handle layout, specification, cutting, fabrication, beading, installation, and repair of all glass and glass-lined piping and related equipment.
  • Coordinate and manage assistants and helpers for glass and welding projects as necessary.
  • Stay informed about glass repair technologies.
  • Perform inspections and conduct preventive and routine maintenance on glass systems and equipment.
  • Obtain and maintain a state-certified permit for all structural and pressure welding performed within the facility.
  • Conduct all types of repairs primarily from the bench, including the rebuilding of pumps and valves.
  • Be ready for fieldwork as required.
  • Maintain organization and control over the maintenance stockroom.
  • Follow all safety and environmental procedures and regulations.

Qualifications for Maintenance Technician

  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as a maintenance mechanic or electrician in a manufacturing setting is essential.
  • Capability to work at heights.
  • Ability to carry heavy tools and equipment necessary for job completion.
  • Willingness to perform welding tasks in challenging positions for extended periods.
  • Must be able to use personal protective equipment as mandated by company policy.
  • Ability to transport tools and equipment weighing over 50 lbs.
