Job Summary
The Med/Surg Registered Nurse (RN) plays a crucial role in providing comprehensive patient care in a medical-surgical environment. This position requires a commitment to ensuring patient safety, comfort, and recovery through skilled nursing practices. The job involves collaboration with the medical team and participation in the planning and implementation of patient care plans.
Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients in the medical-surgical unit.
- Conduct thorough assessments and monitor patient statuses regularly.
- Administer medications and treatments in line with established protocols.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to create and adjust patient care plans.
- Educate patients and their families about treatment plans and post-discharge care.
- Document patient progress and care activities diligently in medical records.
- Respond to patient needs promptly, ensuring comfort and support.
Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the relevant state.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred, or equivalent experience.
- Previous experience in a medical-surgical nursing setting is highly desirable.
- Strong assessment, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS).
