Job Summary
The Medical Director for Hospice on a PRN (as-needed) basis plays a pivotal role in providing clinical leadership within the hospice program. This position emphasizes enhancing the quality of care for patients, overseeing medical staff, and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations while collaborating with interdisciplinary teams.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and assess the clinical care provided to hospice patients, ensuring a high standard of medical services.
- Provide guidance and support to clinical staff, fostering professional development and interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Ensure that the hospice program adheres to state and federal regulations and standards.
- Conduct regular reviews of patient care plans and participate in case management meetings.
- Respond to medical inquiries and provide recommendations for patient care services.
Qualifications
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree, with a valid medical license.
- Experience in hospice or palliative care settings is highly preferred.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
- Familiarity with regulatory and compliance issues in hospice care.
