Job Summary
The Medical Director plays a crucial role as the primary physician and health authority, overseeing the clinical operations within the detention facility. This position entails significant leadership in fostering effective medical services while ensuring adherence to regulations and standards.
Responsibilities
- Manage patient referrals and streamline the clinical workflow.
- Supervise and provide guidance to clinical staff.
- Ensure adequate on-call coverage for medical emergencies.
- Maintain compliance with established medical protocols and policies.
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited medical school.
- Possession of a full medical license to practice in the state of Kansas.
- Current DEA registration is essential.
- Board certification in a primary care specialty is preferred.
- Experience in administrative roles within correctional or managed healthcare settings is advantageous.
