Job Summary
The Medical Laboratory Assistant is essential in the healthcare setting, focusing on the collection of blood specimens through skin punctures, alongside the management of laboratory test requests. This role plays a critical part in the operational efficiency of the laboratory by ensuring that all necessary processes are handled smoothly and accurately.
Responsibilities
- Perform skin punctures for blood specimen collection.
- Manage laboratory test requisitions and ensure accurate processing.
- Register outpatients and order the necessary tests.
- Maintain organized areas for specimen collection to facilitate workflow.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED is required.
- Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- National Phlebotomy Certification is preferred.
