Job Summary
The Medical Laboratory Technician plays a crucial role in the healthcare system by conducting laboratory tests and procedures that are essential for diagnosing and treating patients. Technicians ensure that laboratory results are accurate and delivered promptly to support patient care.
Responsibilities
- Conduct laboratory tests accurately and efficiently on a variety of specimens.
- Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure it is calibrated properly.
- Document results and maintain clear records of tests performed.
- Follow standard operating procedures to ensure the integrity of tests.
- Assist in the training of new laboratory staff and interns.
- Communicate effectively with healthcare providers regarding test results.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or equivalent experience.
- Certification from a recognized laboratory technician board.
- Strong understanding of laboratory procedures and protocols.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
