Job Summary
The Medication Technician plays a crucial role in the healthcare team by ensuring the proper administration and support of medications and treatments as directed by licensed healthcare professionals. This position also involves responsibilities related to medication management and coordination with pharmacies.
Responsibilities
- Administer or assist in the administration of medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers.
- Organize and maintain the medication supply room effectively.
- Perform audits on medication carts to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Coordinate the delivery of medications with pharmacy services to guarantee timely access for patients.
- Observe and monitor patient responses to medications and report findings to supervisors as needed.
Qualifications
- Completion of state-required training and certification for medication administration duties.
- Knowledge of state regulations governing medication administration practices.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Good communication skills to interact effectively with healthcare providers and patients.
