Job Summary
The Nurse Midwife at UPMC Divine Mercy Women’s Health plays a pivotal role in providing holistic care to women throughout their pregnancy journeys. This position focuses on ensuring the health and well-being of both mothers and infants while promoting a supportive environment for safe birthing experiences.
Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive midwifery care to expectant mothers, including prenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum support.
- Work collaboratively with a healthcare team to develop personalized birth plans and monitor maternal and fetal health.
- Educate patients on prenatal care, childbirth options, and newborn care.
- Conduct routine assessments and address any emerging health concerns during the perinatal period.
- Advocate for patient-centered care and participate in community outreach programs related to women’s health.
Qualifications
- Current certification as a Nurse Midwife and licensure to practice nursing in the relevant state.
- Strong clinical skills in midwifery, with a focus on evidence-based practices.
- Exceptional communication abilities and a compassionate approach to patient care.
- Experience in the delivery of women’s health services is preferred.
