Job Summary
The Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) plays a crucial role in supporting occupational therapy services. This position involves working closely with licensed occupational therapists to implement treatment plans for patients, assisting them in achieving their therapeutic goals and promoting independence in daily activities.
Responsibilities
- Assist licensed occupational therapists in executing individualized treatment plans.
- Support patients with therapeutic exercises and activities designed to improve their functional abilities.
- Monitor patient progress and report changes to the supervising therapist.
- Document patient care and interventions in compliance with regulations and standards.
- Educate patients and their families regarding treatment processes and home exercises.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
- Current state licensure or certification to practice as a COTA.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work as part of a collaborative healthcare team.
- Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.
