Job Summary
The Equipment Technician plays a vital role in the surgical department by overseeing equipment management, ensuring a sterile environment, and assisting in patient transport. Additionally, they offer direct support during surgical procedures by holding retractors under the guidance of a Registered Nurse.
Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain surgical equipment to ensure functionality and readiness.
- Maintain a sterile environment in the operating room to support safe surgical procedures.
- Assist in the transport of patients within the surgical setting.
- Provide direct assistance in surgeries by holding retractors under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
Qualifications
- Must possess a high school diploma or an equivalent qualification.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
- Previous clinical experience in an operating room setting is preferred.
