Job Summary
The Patient Care Technician in the 3 South ICU EMU is responsible for delivering high-quality patient care on a per diem basis at the Mullica Hill Tower. This role involves supporting nursing staff through various clinical tasks to ensure patient comfort and safety in a critical unit environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist nursing personnel with patient care tasks, including but not limited to bathing, feeding, and mobilization.
- Monitor and document patient vital signs and report any significant changes to the nursing staff.
- Maintain a clean and safe patient environment, adhering to infection control protocols.
- Help in the preparation of patients for examinations and procedures.
- Support the emotional and physical well-being of patients through compassionate interactions.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of a Nursing Assistant training program is preferred.
- Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required.
- Prior experience in a healthcare setting, particularly in an acute care or critical care environment, is advantageous.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are necessary for effective patient interaction.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
