Job Summary
The Patient Care Technician plays a crucial role in delivering direct care to patients, focusing on their daily living activities, monitoring vital signs, and executing clinical support tasks. This position is essential in ensuring that patients receive high-quality care and assistance throughout their treatment journey.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct assistance to patients in activities of daily living.
- Monitor and record vital signs to track patients’ health status.
- Perform clinical support duties, including phlebotomy and EKG tests.
- Facilitate patient transportation within the healthcare facility.
- Maintain accurate documentation in medical records.
- Contribute to department quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED is required.
- One to two years of healthcare experience, depending on educational background.
- Completion of a senior class in patient care technician training is necessary.
- Relevant certifications such as BLS or CPR must be obtained.
