Job Summary
The Pharmacy Technician plays a vital role in the preparation, compounding, labeling, and dispensing of medications. This position also involves maintaining precise records and managing inventory while adhering to relevant regulatory and safety standards, including infection control protocols. The Pharmacy Technician collaborates closely with pharmacists to assist in medication reviews and reconciliations, operates pharmacy equipment, and provides essential services to both patients and healthcare professionals.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, compound, label, and dispense medications accurately.
- Maintain precise and up-to-date records of medication distribution.
- Manage and oversee pharmacy inventory effectively.
- Adhere to safety protocols, regulatory requirements, and infection control measures.
- Support pharmacists with medication reviews and reconciliations.
- Operate and maintain pharmacy equipment competently.
- Provide excellent service to patients and healthcare staff.
Qualifications
- 0–2 years of pharmacy technician experience in a hospital or healthcare environment.
- State Licensed Pharmacy Technician credential or Certified Pharmacy Technician certification is required.
- Basic Life Support certification is mandatory.
- Strong skills in medication preparation and compounding.
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
- Proficiency in pharmacy systems and equipment.
